Polínský vrch (684 masl) is a relic (remains) of a Tertiary (Neogene) lava flow of an unknown volcano and forms a small table mountain in its upper part. The size of the platform is approx. 500 x 250 meters and it rises approx. 50 meters above the surrounding terrain. In the first half of the 20th century, a quarry was established at the foot of the mountain, which partially revealed the interesting columnar distribution of the basalt. The columns are quite large and irregular (approximately 20 meters long). In the northeastern part of the quarry, there are volcaniclastic layers with blocks of basalt and xenoliths. It is not yet clear where the mother volcano from which the lava flow came from was located. Since the 1970s, the exposed columns have become a popular climbing site.
